Just wondering how people in the fitness world look at Aquatic Exercise classes. Currently there is a shortage of instructors and there is a large number of benefits to this type of exercise as well as a high demand for instructors. What i'd like to know is :

1. What do you think about aquatic fitness?
2. What do you know about the differences in types of exercise (aquatic/land based)?
3. What could help convince you to train to be an aquatic instructor?

Thanks people.

Hi Alex, interesting topic.
I guess aquatic fitness would be just as beneficial as land fitness. From what I know, aquatic fitness is mainly used in physiotherapy/rehab training. It is also a very good way for very obese people to begin their fitness training. Like Aqua aerobics, much easier on the vital joints. I have personally been trained in water before as part of my footy training. It is bloody hard but at least you don’t sweat ! (well you do but its insignificant as you’re wet anyway). Once again, interesting topic and questions.... I wonder what the others have to say about it.

Why would people nned to be convinced to train to be an aquantic instructor? you either want to do it or you dont. i can imagine the demand for aquatic instructors to be much less than personal trainers as you are confined to a swimming pool. There is way more gyms out there than there are swimming pools.
